Day Trips

Celestun (Flamingo tour)
USD 35 p.p. for carfare and USD 15 p.p. boat-tour
Departure at 8am and return at the hotel at aprox. 5pm.
Take with you: swimwear, lotion & water.(sandwiches = optional)
Passing several Maya pueblos, before entering Celestun.
In Celestun you hop onboard a boat with local guide
and cruise towards Flamingobreading area.
Free time on Celestun beach, for swimming and/or lunch.

Chichen Itza (The major Maya tour)
USD 40 p.p. for carfare, USD 10 p.p. entrance Chichen Itza
and aprox. USD 12 p.p. for caves and cenotes
Departure at 6am and return at the hotel at aprox. 8pm.
Take with you: swimwear, lotion and water (sandwiches are optional)
Until Chitzen Itza it is a 2 hour drive, so you can sleep on board for a while longer.
Walk around the Maya site for a couple of hours.
After that you drive further east towards Valladolid
On the way you'll stop at numerous cenotes and craters like:
Ikil (a crater of 10 mtrs. around and nice for a swim)
Ixkeken and Sambula (Caves)
Zaci (open cenote)
Strolling thru the city Valladolid with a nice lunch
Then you'll return to Chichen Itza for the light and sound show (use same ticket !)
Or instead of the show you can have a romantic dinner at Hacienda Teya (near Merida)

Ruta Puuc (The hilly route)
UDS 40 p.p. for carfare,USD 10 p.p. entrance Uxmal (Maya site)
aprox.USD 8 p.p. for 4 more ruins and aprox.USD 4.70 entrance fee for Loltun caves
(Tours Loltun start at 9.30am, 11am, 12 noon,2pm, 3pm and 4pm.
Departure at 6am and return at the hotel at aprox. 5pm.
If you wish to includethe light and sound show at Uxmal, you will return later.
Take with you: swimwear, lotion and water (sandwiches are optional)
Drive straight to Uxmal (aprox. 1.15 hrs)
Explore Uxmal
Visit other ruins like: Kabah, Sayil, Xlapak and Labna
Also visit the caves of Loltun (a must see !)
On the way back you'll stop in pueblo Mani for local dishes
Option; return to Uxmal for the light and sound show and visit the city Oxcutscab.

Izamal (The Convent route)
USD 35 p.p. for carfare, USD 0.50 p.p. entrance fee for caves
Departure at 8am and return at the hotel at aprox. 5pm
Take with you: swimwear, lotion and water.(sandwiches are optional)
Drive along the coastline and visit a flamingo breeding area.
Visit caves like: Ixtampu and Xambula (able to swim in them)
Drive thru Motul (loveseat city) to Izamal
Visit convent and pyramids
The drive back thru Kimbila pueblo (famous for textile)
Option: visit Hacienda Teya for dinner

Fishing (The Mexican Way)
USD 40 carfare for 4 persons, USD 120.00 for fishingboat rental, for up to 8 persons and
ingredients lunch (at the hotel) USD 5 p.p.
Departures at 7am and return at hotel at aprox. 3pm
Take with you: swimwear, lotion & water.(or other soda's)
Also take:tortillas, lemons, tomatos, onions & cilantro for lunch
Drive to Chuburna and hop aboard the boat, they will leed you thru very nice spots
and surprises
